2022 Meetup Poker Festival Review

In September 2022 the time had finally come! The first Meetup Poker Festival was held at the Grand Casino Asch and was a complete success. The numbers spoke for themselves. 70,000€ prize pool guarantee, 7 tournaments, several hundred registrations and even a casino record with the most players in a 50€ Thursday tournament.

Friday was also a busy day in terms of poker. The day started with the Crazy Pineapple Event, in which the coveted pineapple trophy found its way to "Spritzenjohnny" in the end. It almost seemed like fate that he was allowed to take the trophy home in the end. He had already told us before the tournament that his whole house was full of annanas, as he had been collecting them for several years. At the final table he jokingly said "I wouldn't even sell the cup for 10,000€ if I won" - and he won hands down.

The poker evening was topped off by Hempi's PKO. Here too, how could it be otherwise, the guaranteed sum of €20,000 was cracked. Hempmaster and Q_Poker delivered themselves an unofficial Battle. Everyone who booked through one of the two received a T-shirt of his streamer as a gift. This made it easy to find out which community is "better" and makes it furthest in the tournaments.

While the last tournament of the evening was coming to an end, the day was far from over! As first organizer ever, we had arranged a Beerpong table. The table provided a consistently good mood until the early morning hours.

Despite a very short night, the next morning everyone was ready on time to register for the Main Event. The real highlight though took place off the poker tables. Besides the time spent together at the bar, small community games, raffles and lots of nice people, the official Beerpong tournament started in the evening. If you tune in to Twitch from now and then, you should be familiar with the winning duo. In the end, the Twitch mods from the Q-ummunity MCKonny and Infocraft managed to win.

All in all, the festival was a great success and we hope to welcome one or the other of you again next year. The festival starts on August 30th and runs until September 3rd, 2023. Make sure you secure your seat early and be there when it's time to "shuffle up and deal" again!

Thanks to everyone who made our first event so memorable.
